Alba
As the daughter no one wants, I’ve learned to survive in the shadows of the Serra Mafia. While my family deals in power and violence, I secretly help the women who need saving. It’s dangerous, but it’s the only thing that feels right.

Then Odin enters my life.
He’s dangerous, forbidden, and everything I should fear. Yet when he looks at me, I feel seen for the first time.
The problem is, he’s the enemy my family created.

Odin
The Serra Mafia took everything from me.
I’ve spent years waiting for my revenge, and I won’t stop until every debt has been paid in blood.
Then I meet Alba Marini.
She was supposed to be just another Marini. Instead, she’s become my obsession.
I should hate her.
I should walk away.
Instead, I’m going to claim her, protect her, and keep her.
Because when the time comes to destroy the Serra Mafia, Alba will be the only thing I refuse to lose.

The water was starting to warm up, and I waited for it to be the right temperature before moving out of the way and allowing Alba some space. Only, I wasn’t done, as I needed to get her naked.

I grabbed the ugly ass top, which was way too big for her and hid that beautiful body from my view. I wonder if she realized I’d been quite selfish with the wardrobe I’d purchased for her. All the items of clothing I had gotten had been chosen with the intention of showing off her body for my gaze. I loved how she looked and I found her to be completely sexy. I had no problems with her full, ripe figure. There were no complaints from me, and I wanted her to dress accordingly.

She wasn’t wearing a bra, and I sunk down to my knees and grabbed the tie of the sweatpants, pulling, and letting it loosen. She didn’t fight me, as her sweatpants fell. Again, she wasn’t wearing any panties, and now, as she kicked away her clothes, as well as the sneakers she’d slid on, she was now naked for the first time in front of me.

She looked absolutely stunning. Large, full tits, and hips that were more than a generous handful. Running the tips of my fingers up the outside of her thighs, I stood, and Alba tilted her head back, and I loved that she kept looking into my eyes.

“You’re still dressed,” she said.

“Are you ready to see me naked?”

She took a deep breath but then nodded.

Kicking off my boots, I tugged my button shirt over my head, without pinging off any of the buttons. Tossing it to the floor, I went for my belt and slid it open, but I kept it wrapped around my waist, as I went for the zipper and the button.

Tugging it open, I dropped my pants to the floor, and all I had left was my boxer briefs,  which I pushed to the floor as well. I pushed my clothing out of the way, as well as hers, and then I did what I had been wanting to do since I walked into that room this morning and saw her awake. I pulled her into my arms and pressed my face against her neck.

I’d promised to protect her. She was the one exception to my rule when it came to the Serra Mafia, and I nearly lost her, and that was not going to happen again. Tightening my grip around her, I felt how warm she was, and it calmed me.

That piece of flesh I sent to Roberto would have arrived by now. The man’s body would never be found. He didn’t last more a couple of hours, as he was begging for me to end his life. I only granted it because Doctor Hope had said Alba was going to wake up soon, and I wanted to be there when she did.

So, his life had come to a sorry end a lot sooner than I had hoped. In hindsight, I should have let the rats enjoy him. That would have been a fitting end to that piece of shit.

Pulling out of my thoughts, I held onto her, becoming aware of the feel of her tits as they pressed against my chest. I wanted to breathe her in.

“I’m okay,” she said.

I didn’t want to lose her. I don’t know why I didn’t want to lose her. She was just a woman, and I was just a man. Alba was different. I got that.

“I won’t let anything like that happen again.” I pulled away and looked into her brown eyes, but I couldn’t help but glance down and look at those full lips. They were inviting. I wanted to kiss her.

“I need a toothbrush,” she said. She pressed a hand to her mouth, and wrinkled her nose. “I’ve got vomit breath.”

I laughed. Kissing the top of her head, I reached out of the stall and grabbed her toothbrush and toothpaste. There was no way I was able to brush her teeth. She looked at me as if I had given her the greatest gift in the world, as she took the toothbrush and toothpaste.

I couldn’t help but laugh at the same time I reached for the bar of soap. I might not be able to kiss her, but there were other things I could do.

Harper Taylor has spent years cleaning for the most feared Capo in the Villa Mafia. Trapped by her controlling father and desperate for freedom, the last thing she expects is to fall for her dangerous boss.
Enzo Castelli trusts no one.
Betrayal has shaped him into a ruthless mafia kingpin, but Harper is the one exception. The one woman he can’t stay away from. The one person he would burn the world to protect.
When enemies close in and family secrets come to light, Harper finds herself caught between the life she’s always known and the man who refuses to let her go.
Because Enzo doesn’t share.
And once he decides Harper belongs to him, he’ll destroy anyone who tries to take her away.

Harper had known he had a wife and kids, and that he lost them, but she didn’t realize what happened. She also knew he had parents that had died, but she had no idea how or why. No one had talked about it.

This was heartbreaking. She couldn’t believe what he’d gone through.

Without thinking, she made her way toward him, and she sank to her knees, threw her arms around him, and hugged him. “I’m so sorry,” she said.

She couldn’t even imagine what that must have been like, to find his parents, his in-laws, and then his children. To have seen the damage his wife had done. She never met the woman, but just on principle for what she had done, she hated her so much. It was good that he killed her. No monster like that deserved to live.

She pressed her face against his neck, and he smelled so good. Harper couldn’t quite put her finger on why he smelled so good, just that he did. She didn’t know why she kissed his neck.

Enzo pulled away, and Harper pulled back. They were still close, and he captured her arms in his grip. He stared at her, and she stared right back at him. Silence fell between them.

Harper felt her heart race, there was no other word for it. She had no idea what was happening right now, or what she should do. His lips looked so inviting.

She didn’t know who moved first, herself or Enzo, but one moment, they were staring at each other, and in the next, they were kissing. This wasn’t a bland kiss either, this was passionate. Like the walls of boss and employee had been shattered as they broke that boundary between them. He held her arms so tightly, and she put her hands on his chest, but not to push him away. She worked them up, circled her hands around his neck, and he teased his tongue across her bottom lip, and she met him, tasting him.

She felt her body heat up, her nipples go incredibly tight, and her pussy slick with arousal. She wanted him badly.

Harper pulled away, because the cold reality set in. This was Enzo Castelli. He was a mafia boss, a freaking Capo, and that meant he had responsibilities. They hadn’t made him marry yet, but he would need to provide heirs. He’d need a woman by his side with good family and good standing. She was none of those things.

This was a nightmare.

She pulled away, got to her feet, and rushed out of the room. Her lips were swollen, and she tried to make her escape but didn’t get far.

Enzo stopped her, grabbing her arms, pressing them up above her head, and then his lips were back on hers. She melted against him, and she wanted to tell him to stop, but it was like her body had other ideas, as she relished the kiss. This was passion.

He held her hands above her head as he ravished her mouth, and with his other hand, he stroked down from her shoulder, cupping her tit and gliding down. He pulled up the skirt of her uniform and swallowed her cry as he cupped her pussy.

She wore panties, but with the heat of his hand, it was like she was wearing nothing. He’d stripped her completely naked, yet she still wore clothes.

Of course, Enzo had other ideas, and those panties were torn from her without even so much as a yank, but the fabric was flimsy as it had lost the elastic long ago. She was lucky they stayed up around her waist.

His hand pressed against her pussy. His fingers moved between her slit, and she cried out at the sheer instant hit of pleasure that consumed her from that one touch. She had never been touched there, never been kissed. This was all so new, and she didn’t know what the hell she was doing.

He broke the kiss and trailed his lips down toward her neck. Harper was about to tell him she was a virgin and they shouldn’t be doing this, but then his teeth grazed across her pulse. She lost all thought, because it was like tiny little orgasms went off through her entire body, and she was unable to think or process.

At the same time, his fingers were at her cunt, and he pressed a finger between her slit and touched the nub, stroking back and forth. She closed her eyes, and he growled against her.

The uniform was tugged, and she realized he had let go of her hands above her head, but she had been so lost on sensation, she hadn’t even realized it. The uniform came open, and he somehow worked on her bra, and even with her clothes on, he was able to get her tits naked.

His mouth took one of her nipples into his, and she cried out. There was no way to think. It was sensation after sensation, and all she could do was float on it, mindless with pleasure.

And then he pulled his hand away, and she heard the unmistakable sound of a zipper, and he lifted her up.

“We’ll have time later,” he said.

Childish.
Immature.

All of her life, Mia had grown up knowing she wasn’t good enough. Even though she was arranged to marry Giovanni Fabbri, all she was ever told was how she didn’t match up. Her marriage did start out great—until she overheard the truth from her husband’s lips.

To many, that insult wouldn’t matter. To Mia, it broke her heart because it was what she had been told her whole life. She was just not good enough.

Giovanni doesn’t find his wife childish. What he doesn’t like is sharing her. He’s a selfish bastard, and he’s obsessed with Mia. But now he’s brought a wedge between them, and he doesn’t know how to repair it.

Mia still loves her husband. How can she prove she’s not a child? When trouble comes calling to the mafia, Giovanni needs answers, and Mia is more than happy to help. When everything keeps going wrong, what will happen when Giovanni finds out she’s pregnant? And who is behind the kidnappings?

The drug had worn off and Mia looked at Giovanni, knowing he was pissed. She didn’t take them to get high, or anything else. Staring at him right now, she couldn’t help but deny that he was sexy. She felt a warmth between her thighs.

“Hey,” she said, sitting up.

Her body didn’t feel tired. It felt … aroused. At least, she felt like it did.

“What the fuck were you thinking?” he asked.

Mia didn’t want to argue with him. He’d been so sweet, carrying her from the chair to the couch, and then sitting over her. She had no idea in knowing how long she was out.

Mia remembered the night—Giovanni just leaving her at the nightclub to have his business meeting. He had done it several times before, but for some reason, it angered her tonight. She hated him for just walking away. Mia had followed him, but as she got close, her guards had stopped.

Mia had seen him talking to that beautiful woman. She didn’t know who that woman was, just that she looked stunning, mature, and confident. The dress suit molded to every curve, and the woman’s hair was pulled back into a bun. Giovanni seemed completely absorbed in what the woman was saying.

Mia hated the feelings that swept over her at the sight of the woman—anger, jealousy, fear. Giovanni would not see her that way, because he saw her as a child. Mia knew she should be angry right now.

She wanted to be angry. He had been talking to another woman and might even be having an affair with that woman, but she didn’t feel that anger at the moment. Instead, she reached out and felt the fullness of his shoulders. Giovanni was a muscular man, hard and firm in all the right places.

“Mia?”

“When did you get so … thick?” she asked.

Mia dropped to her knees, ran her hands up Giovanni’s chest, and slid the jacket off his shoulders.

“Mia?”

“Sh, let’s not fight. Not tonight. We have a duty, remember?”

Mia got to her feet and pulled Giovanni to his feet. The only problem was, the door looked so far away, as did the bedroom. There was no way she would last all that time, so she pushed Giovanni toward the couch and made him sit down. Without another word, she straddled his waist and cupped his face. She stared into his eyes and kissed him.

It had been so long since she had felt his lips against hers, and she didn’t want to wait another second. Sliding her tongue across his bottom lip, she let out a moan, then a whimper because she ground her pelvis against his dick.

“I want you,” Mia said.

Grabbing the lapels of his shirt, she felt like a woman possessed. She tore the shirt open and didn’t give a damn where the buttons landed. All she cared about was touching Giovanni. She wanted her hands all over him. She wanted to feel him against her.

Tugging at his belt and then his pants, she had his button open and his zipper pulled down. A whimper escaped her as she eased out his long, thick cock.

She had loved having sex with Giovanni. Mia had loved the closeness they had. In the last few months, they still had sex, because she had a duty to follow.

She had no choice in being a mother to Giovanni’s children. Also, she had never mentioned that she also loved to have sex with him. Even if at times it was in the bedroom, facing each other. Sometimes it felt very mechanical, but she did love sex, something she had never told anyone, not even her friends.

Mia climbed off Giovanni’s lap and without waiting for him to touch her, she grabbed the hem of her dress, as it had no fastenings, and simply pulled it right off her head, leaving her in a pair of panties and matching bra.

Mia straddled his lap again, and Giovanni put his hands on her body, and it felt so good. She moaned his name.

Words Cut Deep – By – Sam Crescent

This book is related to characters we previously met in the story titled Doormat written by Sam Crescent. I would suggest you read Doormat first to enjoy these characters but it is not essential as this story does stand on its own. When four best friends, Liana, Mia, Clarissa and Tatiana all of whom marry four men who are also best friends and the scariest of men in the Colombo Mafia, Diego, Giovanni, Lorenzo and Emilio, accidentally overhear their husbands saying some not so nice comments about them they are all equally upset and angry as they thought their marriages were going well. The women were starting to each have feelings for their husbands until the truth of their thoughts comes to light. Mia hears Giovanni call her excitement for things childish, Tatiana hears her husband brag about having a mistress, Clarissa hears her husband calling her boring especially in bed and Liana’s husband called her a Doormat but he soon learned how very wrong he was about that in their story which was great! This story features around Mia Fabbri and her husband Giovanni. Mia has had a lifetime of hearing her family calling her childish, immature, useless and other unkind words but when she hears the words childish from her husband’s lips she is heartbroken. She thought they had a good marriage and were happy but hearing those words above all others from the one person she thought was on her side crushes her. Giovanni doesn’t realise the consequences that one silly mistake could cause. He loves his wife just the way she is and is frustrated as she tries to change herself after hearing his callous words. Giovanni has to prove to his wife that she is perfect as she is and that she is exactly the wife he wants, all whilst handling Mafia business and dealing with a threat against the family that could be a danger to his own wife if he doesn’t figure out who is threatening the Colombo Family existence. This was such a well written story. I am delighted that we got to see Mia and Giovanni work through their problems and am excited to see which couple will be having their story told next. The characters are engaging and likeable. I loved Mia’s personality we need more people in the world like her. Giovanni was better than I could of imagined, a strong male that could show his woman love, tenderness and exquisite passion. The story kept me hooked from the beginning and throughout. I cannot wait for more. Happy Reading.
Please note that I was given an arc of this book for my honest review which is exactly what I have given.
5 out of 5 stars.

Incredible Story!

This is based on the book Doormat, in which we met four friends who discover what their husband’s think of them. This story can be read on its own. This is Mia’s story. All her life, Mia has been told she’s not good enough and the things she did were childish and immature. She thinks her arranged marriage to Giovanni is good, that is until she overhears a conversation in which Gio complains that Mia is childish. This hits her like a freight train and crushes her spirit. Figuring she’ll change herself, she becomes another person. No colorful clothes or seasonal parties,  she becomes muted. Giovanni knows what he said is not how he feels but doesn’t know how to undo the damage. Now seeing the changes in Mia and trouble within the Mafia that may threaten Mia, Giovanni struggles to fix his mistake and protect Mia. This is a great groveling romance with twists and turns you don’t see coming. Loved this book.

The only reason he goes, is for one person. Adelina Ferri. She is funny, sweet, sexy, and she wears the worst clothes he has ever seen.

Adelina’s parents are embarrassed by her. They force her to wear clothes that are too large, and not at all flattering. However, soon it would all be over. She has learned that she is engaged to a man who has a history of hurting his wives. All of them are dead, and if she marries him, it will be a guaranteed death sentence.

When Massimo learns the truth, he cannot allow it to happen. Adelina is too kind, too good, to be allowed to be at the mercy of that … dick.

There is only one solution. He will marry her.

Her place is not as a Salvatore, and there are those in the Russo Mafia who will not let her forget it. However, when she is with Massimo, everything else fades. To everyone else, he is a monster, but to her, he is her savior.

He stopped her from dying. He has given her a future, but for how long. There is a traitor amongst the Russo mafia. One that is circling, intent on taking over. Massimo will not allow that to happen.

When his wife is taken, it is a race against the clock. But who is behind the threat, and will he make it in time?

Excerpt:

At the start of this engagement, Massimo had intended for his wedding night to be fake. He was not going to put Adelina through the pain of losing her virginity.

Only, they had gotten to their wedding night, and seeing her in her gown, being near her, smelling that hint of vanilla mixed with cinnamon, was a tempting combination. She made him ache so damn bad. He’d been wanting her since the moment he turned at the church and saw her walking down the aisle toward him.

To him, Adelina had looked absolutely stunning. He’d been drawn to her throughout the ceremony, and even at the after-party. Dancing with her had been a dream. She fit against him as if she was always supposed to be there. Absolutely breathtaking.

And now, as the door closed behind them for their wedding night, he had seen the looks from some of the women. He’d even seen Lily-Mae talking to his wife earlier, and he had sensed her withdrawal, and it pissed him the fuck off.

Staring across the room at her, with the door now locked, he released his jacket and cleared his throat.

“If you don’t want to … I understand,” Adelina said.

He looked at her, and then with purpose he closed the distance between them so he was right in front of her, and she had no way of escaping.

“You understand?” he asked.

“I mean, I get it, if you want to, you know, not … do what needs to be done.”

He reached out and stroked a curl back behind her ear. “I don’t know who has gotten into your head, but unless you don’t want my touch, Adelina, I have every intention of consummating this marriage tonight.”

He was not going to allow room for doubt from anyone. Adelina would leave this room his bride, and that was all he had to say about it.

Stroking some of her hair back behind her ear, he stared into her eyes and cupped her cheeks. At the church, he had been so tempted to ravish her mouth, but he’d seen the slight panic in her eyes and held back for her. Now, he didn’t need to hold back. He could do whatever the hell he wanted, and right now, he desperately wanted to kiss her.

He touched his lips to hers, tentative at first, and then he deepened the kiss, sinking his fingers into her bound hair. He removed the few clips that had pulled her hair back. Massimo was already addicted to this woman, and he couldn’t seem to stop himself.

With his other hand, he rounded her back, gliding down, going toward the curve of her ass. He pulled her in close so she would be able to feel exactly what she did to him. There was no holding back for him. He was hard as fucking rock.

“I think it’s time for us to wash away the day,” he said.

He took her hand and led her into the bathroom. If he tore off her clothes and just took her, he feared he might make her terrified of sex. That was not what he wanted. He had a sneaking suspicion that one time with Adelina would never be enough. He was already addicted to the feel of her lips against his.

it was amazing

bookshelves: arc

Sam has done it again! I absolutely LOVED this Mafia story. She has a way of creating such wonderfully atypical Mafia stories. Massimo is part of the Russo Mafia. He is feared for a reason, he’s a monster. Adelina’s family is part of the Russo Mafia. She has been treated horribly by her family and now her father has arranged a marriage to a monster. He has been married before but is wives and other women are all dead. She realizes what her future will be and has reconciled that she won’t live much longer. Massimo sees Adelina at family functions and always looks forward to talking to her. She breaks the monotony for him and he can’t believe the horrendous dresses she wears. When Adelina tells him to her upcoming nuptials, Massimo knows he can’t let it happen. His solution is to marry her. This begins the dark, dangerous, emotional ride that grabs you and doesn’t let go. This is a fantastic read! I received an advance review copy, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Doormat!

That’s the word Liana Marchetti heard her husband use to describe her as to his friends. She was a boring doormat that didn’t have a single thought for herself. He was so wrong. Being a mafia wife, she tried to play the role that she thought he would like. Now, he was going to see who the real Liana was.

And she wanted a divorce.

Diego did not want to be married. However, when his wife demands a divorce he told her there were only two ways. One, if she betrayed the mafia, he would kill her. The second, if she even dared to be with another man, he’d kill him and get rid of her. His wife had other ideas. Liana was going to make him work.

She had no interest in any other man. Because the truth was, Diego had hurt her. She had started to fall in love with her husband, but there was no way she was going to succumb to a man who thought she was a doormat.

However, Diego is completely blown away by his wife. He didn’t want a doormat, he relished the fire and passion burning inside her, and now, he was not going to let her go. He was going to keep her, and if that meant winning her back, that was exactly what he was going to do.

Swimming helped to clear her mind. At least, it used to help clear her mind, whereas now, it wasn’t exactly helping at all.

Liana had known the moment Diego had entered the room. Besides the fact the door beeped when someone entered the room, she could also sense him. Her father had installed the beep as a security measure. Several years ago, a couple of his enemies had been able to sneak onto the property, kill a few of the soldiers, and get inside the house. Every door beeped as you went in or out of the house. It was great, until someone wanted to go outside to sneak a cigarette. That was her brother, and it tended to wake her up when it happened.

Liana had actually been in the pool when the two men had broken into the house. It had been dark, and she had eased beneath the water so none of them could see her. She’d been the one to send the alert to her father and grab one of the guns from the secure case.

According to Enzo Jr., she did not have a kill, however, she believed she did. She had taken down one of the masked men, and her brother the other, but he had claimed both deaths. She refused to argue with him. They had killed bad men.

Not that death was easy to deal with. She acted all tough in front of her father and brother, but she had gone to the bathroom and vomited. Afterward, she also had nightmares, and thinking back to that, she had a feeling that was why her brother had claimed both kills. So, she didn’t have to deal with it. The truth was, she didn’t know if she had killed anyone or not. She kept replaying the whole thing in her head, but she didn’t know if she had shot her gun, or if her brother had shot more than one bullet. She was a good shot when the target wasn’t moving. Either way, that had been a long time ago.

“It’s time for us to go home,” he said.

“I’m not going to your house.” She didn’t move from her position in the pool. Diego, however, took one step, then another, until he was close, and within touching distance. “I want a divorce.”

Her brother had asked her to consider her options. He didn’t believe divorce was the answer. Liana had no interest in staying married to such a horrible man. She had tried to be married to him, and after six months, he was quite happy to laugh and joke about her. Not happening. She was not going to keep playing a part.

“Not happening,” Diego said.

“What?”

“We’re not getting a divorce.”

“I don’t want to stay married to you,” she said.

“Tough.”

She glared at him, and then when he reached down as if to grab her and pull her out of the pool, she kicked back away from the edge so he would have no choice but to either climb into the pool to get her, or deal with not being able to.

“You’re not listening to me,” she said.

“And you’re not listening to me. There will be no divorce, and seeing as I’m the one in charge, what I say goes.”

She couldn’t even believe the audacity of the man. “Well, if you don’t want a divorce, I suggest you leave. This is my father’s house, and you are not welcome here!”

He stood staring at her, and she glared at him, refusing to budge. He might be used to being the one in charge, but he was about to find out what having her as an enemy was all about. What surprised her was that he unbuttoned his shirt.

“What are you doing?” she asked.

Diego didn’t answer, as he removed his shirt, revealing his very heavily muscled chest covered in ink. She was not distracted by the view, but she continued to glare at him, and then he removed his pants and as he climbed into the pool. Liana started to swim to the opposite side.

Just as she got to the other side, she put her hands up and started to lift herself out, only arms banded around her waist and pulled her right back into the water. She let out a growl, because she felt the sheer strength of him and knew she was no match. Liana tried to wriggle out of his arms, but he just swam with her further into the pool until they were in the center, and neither at the small end or the deep end. They didn’t even go under the water.

Diego held her tightly.

“Let me go!”

“No.”

She tried to become a dead weight in his arms, but that was no good, because he held her up and the water actually helped him. This was a nightmare.

After a few seconds, she slammed her hand on top of the water, sending up a splash of water. “What will it take to get you out of my damn life?”

“Liana, we’re married. Nothing is going to separate us. You could be pregnant with my child. There is no way I am going to accept a divorce.”

“I don’t want to be married to a man like you.”

From the moment Ella Rue stepped into Mateo Cole’s bar, he knew she was different. When a picture, drawn by a kid, falls out of her work locker, he has questions. All of his background checks didn’t say she had a child.

The work was by a child—her own work from many years ago. Being a foster kid, she was used to not being wanted. Ella’s desires had not changed. She wanted to have children, be a mother, and to be a wife. She didn’t want to be a business woman.

Many years ago, Mateo killed his father, along with anyone who dared step in his way. But now, he wants children. He wants a life with Ella, and he knows exactly what to do to make it happen.

Ella knew the proposition was crazy. Most people were afraid of Mateo, but not her. She couldn’t believe that she was even considering the deal, but it was the best way to get what she wanted.

So, they got married, and they began the journey of becoming pregnant. But along the way, something happened. It was no longer a business deal once feelings were involved.

A happily ever after isn’t in the cards. The mafia does not approve of marrying outsiders, and they will stop at nothing to remove the problem.

Ella left her picture underneath the magnet on the fridge right at home, in her apartment. There was no point in carrying it around with her all the time. Arriving at work, Bernie was already behind the bar. On Friday nights they always had two or three people manning the bar, including her. The bar wasn’t open yet, and she gave Bernie a wave.

“Ella, the boss wants a word with you,” he said.

This made her stop and turn to look at Bernie. “What?”

“The boss said to tell you as soon as you come in, that he wanted to see you.”

She nibbled her lip and then glanced back over at Bernie. “Did he say why?”

“No, and I didn’t ask, seeing as he is the boss, and so what he says, goes.”

She tried not to wince, but it was hard not to. This wasn’t good, was it?

She didn’t drop her stuff off at her locker, and instead went straight to Mateo’s office. The door was closed, and she lifted her hand and knocked.

His call to come in came almost immediately after. Her stomach felt incredibly tight. She had no idea why he would want to see her, and it freaked her out just a little. She had never been called to his office. Had a customer reported her? She tried to scramble her brain for a valid reason, and she kept coming up blank. There was no reason he should want to see her.

Stepping into his office, she saw no one was there with a complaint.

“Close the door,” he said.

Was this good?

She did as he asked, and then turned to look at him. He pointed at the chair opposite her, and she had no choice but to take a seat, although she just wanted to ask him what was going on. She licked her very dry lips, and waited. Her heart raced. She felt that spiraling sickness swirling in her gut, making her wonder what the hell she was going to do.

“I want to talk to you about a … proposition,” he said.

Okay, she wasn’t expecting that, but at least it didn’t lead to her getting fired, which was a huge plus.

“A proposition?”

“Yes. I’m forty-five years old. I have no wife and no children.” He didn’t look away from her. “And it has come to my attention, Ella, that I want children.”

“Okay. Are you wanting me to help you find a girlfriend or a wife—”

“You’re wanting children, a family, someone to take care of you. How about you and I come to an arrangement that suits both of us?”

This was not what she expected. She had to remind herself to press her lips closed, because she was so close to losing her composure. Her mouth had literally fallen open and stayed open.

“Uh, you want to have a child with me?”

“Children, yes. I want to have more than one child, and based on your picture last night, you want a big family.”

“And you want to have those children with me?”

“Yes,” he said.

She smiled and pressed her lips together, wondering if this was some kind of prank. “You’re kidding?”

“No. I am not kidding. I’m serious, Ella. I want to have kids and a family, and I want to have it with you.”

“What, uh, what exactly would that entail?”

“We’ll get married. I have already made the arrangements. We can be at a church in less than twenty minutes. Everything would be legal. I promise I will take care of you, and in return, you’ll take care of me. Provide me with everything a loving wife can offer. I will give you the kids.”

“How would we … make those kids?” Ella asked. She felt like she was in a dream, but each time she kept pinching her arm, she wouldn’t wake up.

“The old-fashioned way. We can come to a deal with this arrangement, but after that, everything would be real. You will be my wife, I will be your husband, we will have children and a family. Together, we can give each other what we want.”

New Release: A Wife’s Duty

She has a choice to make, but will she make the right one?

This is a completely standalone story.

Lucia Valdez knew she was hated by her family, which is why she was given away as a peace offering. Boone Grinder was not a nice man, and he had been making waves for the Bonaldi mafia for quite some time.

No one knew who this man was, what he did, or why he did it. All they knew, was he was responsible for making the streets run red.

Boone Grinder wasn’t your ordinary villain. He didn’t deal in illegal business, and the truth was, he wanted to be left alone. Only, they wouldn’t leave him alone. He saw the injustice that was happening to small businesses at the hands of the Bonaldi mafia, and he couldn’t stand by and allow it to continue.

Taking Lucia as his wife was the first step in their downfall. They believed they had insulted him. In fact, they had given him the woman he wanted. Before things get too far, he gives her a choice—him or her father.

It’s a wife’s duty to stay by her husband’s side. Boone has done nothing but show Lucia kindness, and given her a life she never thought possible. She will always pick him, and as for her family … it was their choice to let her go.

And then, when it came time to hand out their punishment, he had told them. “I usually give people a choice. One is the right choice, the other is the wrong choice.” He’d looked at the two of them. “But you have both told me you knew who I was, what those people meant to me, and you still did what you did. You attacked a woman who was defenseless, so you made your choice.”

They could have gone to him. He would have listened and dealt with Valdez effectively.

The men had screamed for their lives. To make it fair, he’d not slowly killed one, then worked on the other. They both got to watch as pieces of their body were removed, and currently on the way to Valdez, as well as Bonaldi, as he was now in the shower with Lucia.

They thought they knew who they were dealing with. They were very much mistaken. He was a good man, a kind man, a fair man—to the people that deserved it. To those that didn’t, he was the man monsters feared. There was no remorse.

Seeing Nancy bruised, battered, and broken in that hospital bed was all he needed. Killing those men meant nothing to him. However, he already had wheels in motion for Leandro, as the youngest son had been given instructions to find the means of ending Boone’s life.

The one good thing about going to Valdez’s home was he’d been able to install a few listening devices.

Leandro was going to one of his older apartments, with the intention of setting a bomb. The young man didn’t realize that Boone had already got him beat, and the moment he stepped inside his home, there was a trap ready to lock him in place. All he had to do was wait.

Pulling out of his thoughts, he focused on his wife, her naked body in his arms, and playing with her swollen clit. She shook within his arms, and he continued to tease her clit, knowing she was a virgin and there was no holding back. He felt the change within her, and the moment she came, he listened to the soft gasp that escaped her, and he held her in his arms, refusing to let go. Kissing her neck, then her shoulder, she let out a little moan.

He reached for the soap. His hands were already free of the blood. He wouldn’t have touched Lucia with blood-coated hands. Lathering up the soap, he didn’t bother to reach for the sponge, and instead got to soaping his wife. Touching every inch of her body, running the soap intently across her skin. She didn’t have any ink on her. He noticed there were a few scars.

“Did your father do these?” he asked.

She jerked within his hold, but he refused to let her go. “Yes.”

He’d pay for that as well. Enzo Valdez Senior had already written his death certificate. It was just up to Boone to execute it. As well as Bonaldi. That man was also going to die. The wheels were in motion.

After soaping Lucia’s body, he reached for the shampoo, but Lucia surprised him by taking the soap from him.

“My turn.”

He was not going to argue with her. She lathered the soap up in her hands, much like he had. He watched and waited, knowing that imagining her touch was going to be far different from actually touching him. She looked nervous.

He reached for her hand, then placed it on his chest. “To clean me, you have to touch me.”

She rolled her eyes, and it was so freaking cute, he couldn’t resist stealing a kiss. She let out a gasp.

Wrapping his fingers around her wrists, he didn’t squeeze or hold her too tightly. He got her to run her hands all over his body, getting him soaped up. He noticed she kept biting her lip, and it was so sexy the way she did it. It was like he was a piece of her puzzle she was trying to figure out. When she got to his cock, she hesitated, her hand going stiff within his grip.

Taking hold of her hand, he wrapped her fingers around his length, and he was already starting to get aroused at the sight of her.

“You won’t hurt me.”

“But…”

“Touch me, Lucia.”

He watched her take a deep breath, and then she touched him. her fingers tightening around his length just a little, then squeezing. He gritted his teeth, trying to stay focused. It was next to impossible, although he was not some randy boy. He fucking felt like it with Lucia’s touch. If he came now, it was going to embarrass them both.

“That feels so good,” he said.

Lucia looked up at him. “I’m doing this right?”

“I’d tell you if you were doing it wrong.” He wouldn’t hold back in guiding her to do exactly what he wanted.

She continued to play with his cock, only now she certainly wasn’t cleaning him. It was time to move this to the bedroom.

Turning off the shower, all the blood had been removed from his body, and he picked Lucia up in his arms, not caring that they were still wet. She let out a gasp, and he carried her through to their bedroom, where he placed her on the bed.

“Tell me now you don’t want this,” Boone said.

“I want you.”
