Welcome, J. J. Lore

Hello and welcome to my blog. It’s lovely to have you here today.

Thanks for inviting me. I’ll do my best to behave.

Please tell is about yourself.

All outward appearances would indicate I’m a fairly unremarkable middle-aged, middle class, Midwesterner. I live in a beige house in a suburb and I drive a four door sedan. I could stand to lose about ten pounds and I never have a good hair day. However, when I have time to write, I get to create strange worlds filled with over-the-top characters who get to have great sex.

SC: It’s lovely to meet you.

Do you write full time?

I write in my free time, but as a stay at home mom I tend to be working at child care or housework most of the hours I’m not asleep. I try to pack a lot of writing into that spare hour or so I find per day.

SC: It’s amazing how much writing can take over your life. Once you get started, there’s no going back.

What got you started writing?

In the summer of 2011, my family went through a major medical crisis. In an attempt to escape the stress of enormous caregiving responsibilities, I decided to write down the story I’d been daydreaming about, both as therapy and a way to challenge myself outside of going to doctor’s appointments and monitoring vital signs. Thankfully, my loved one recovered and I ended up with an actual book. To my surprise, another story popped into my head and I simply kept writing. Nine published books later, six under a different pen name, I’m still going strong.

SC: Fantastic news, and thank you for sharing with us. I’m so pleased your loved one has recovered.

What words would best describe your books?

My Planet Alpha books are filled with devotion, sexy-times, action, and a bit of humour.

SC: The best kind of books.

What are you working on now?

I’m about thirty thousand words into my first full-length Sci-Fi erotic romance. It involves a lavender-eyed alien sheriff falling hard for the local postmistress who is a little bit of a clean freak. Unfortunately for her, she has to deliver packages on a real mudball of a planet. I’m hoping this one turns out well and I can write a few more set in this world.

SC: I’ll be keeping an eye out for it 🙂

Tell us about your book here.

Unexpected by J. J. Lore

unexpected

As two Alphan warriors on the fast track to promotion and improved status, Mikel and Felix of the Tauride have their future planned out. They intend to go from performing security duties for the Prince while he visits Earth to eventually earning the right to seek out their human mate and rescue her in some dramatic way, impressing her and earning her love. But a chance encounter with a lovely young woman sends them both down a markedly different path.

Shy Alisa Sorrel merely wanted to see a rose garden, then retreat back to her safe and sequestered life in the Women’s Refuge on Earth, but once she encounters two earnest and determined Alphan officers, she’s forced out of her shell and into a whole new world of passion.

Even as the bonds they share tighten and satisfy needs they’d never imagined, Alisa, Felix, and Mikel are soon faced with danger and betrayal from the machinations of humans and Alphans alike. The Alphans will have the chance to rescue their fair damsel after all, but will they make it in time?

Three to five interesting facts about yourself or your writing. This can be your series, characters or even down to what you do in your down time.

-I listen to Al Green, Vangelis, and Sigur Ros (http://www.sigur-ros.co.uk/ ) when I write sex scenes.

-I put hot sauce on everything and have six different kinds in my refrigerator right now.

-I get really irritated when people interchange archaeology and palaeontology.

-In high school I played the clarinet, oboe, trombone, and baritone. Yes, I still have superior embouchure.

The Planet Alpha series look very good. So to begin the journey with the series, I’d love to start with Bondmate. That ones looks yummy! I’ll be following her in the future.
