1) Tell is about yourself.
I’m a full-time author, happily taken woman, mother of 2 wonderful boys and almost step mom of 2 more boys and a girl. Yep, we have a large family. I write six days a week and keep to a strict 2k minimum word count per day. Most days I write closer to 5k especially when a story is unfolding well and I’m blessed with quiet time. To date, I have 48 books published; 2 under my pen name Bonnie Parker. I spend the afternoons with the children. After dinner, they usually disappear to their rooms to do their own thing and I curl up with a book on the sofa next to my honey while he watches TV. I’m not much of a TV person, though I have a few shows I’m hooked on. I love The Walking Dead, NCIS, Chicago Fire, and White Collar. Thursday nights are dart night. My honey and I are part of the local darting association and we have a team that plays every Thursday night. I use that time to unwind and put all the household responsibilities and plot lines to the back of my mind for a few hours.
2) What genre do you write and why?
I write mostly erotic romance contemporary, though I have a few books in the fantasy and paranormal genres. I write erotic romances because I got tired of closing the bedroom door when a plot was just getting to the steamy stuff. I’m not really sure I can explain why I prefer contemporary. I get on my paranormal or fantasy kicks now and then, but I always come back to contemporary. Maybe it’s because of my fascination with men in uniform. I’ve seen some authors take this concept into the paranormal genre, but when I picture a firefighter, law officer, soldier, or what have you, he’s always more real-life than super-powered.
3) What made you become a writer?
The voices in my head. Seriously, even when I was a kid, they wouldn’t shut up! It was either start writing or declare myself insane. Some people say I’m insane anyway, but at least I found a way to put the voices to work.
4) Tell us about your recent book or series.
My most recent title is book 9 of The Heroes of Silver Springs series and will be released on Christmas Eve 2012. Going Under features three male characters who have been working their way into one heck of a love triangle for several books now and are finally getting their story. It is a M/M/M novel, the first one in The Heroes of Silver Springs and highly anticipate by fans of the series, even those who don’t generally read man love novels. Here’s the official blurb:
For a man who vowed never to fall in love, how can it be possible FBI agent Cameron Stone managed to fall twice? Hot on the trail of a missing fellow agent, Cameron finds himself in Silver Springs, hometown of DEA agent Adrien Bingham and Firefighter Thaddeus Carter, and the last place Cameron needs to be. When emotions run wild and attraction explodes, can the self-proclaimed playboy hold onto his resistance?
Adrien never intended to fall for Cameron. Too bad his heart wouldn’t listen. Then Thaddeus walked into his life and his heart ended up on a train wreck of confusion.
Thaddeus knew Adrien’s heart already belonged to someone, but that didn’t stop his pursuit. When he meets Cameron, he realizes the man is the one standing in his way. But when his own attraction to Cameron detonates, he’s left in a hell of a mess.
5) What have you found to be the most challenging?
Promotion. I hate promotion! As a writer, that’s all I want to do is tell the stories of the characters who are speaking to me in my head. Unfortunately, a writing career involves a lot more than simply sitting down at a computer and letting the words flow. I have to actually let people know there is a book out there by me to be read. In a slew of too many other books to count, promotion is definitely a vital key to keeping up the career, but it still sucks. LOL
A Few fun questions.
Does size matter?
Nope, but skill does 🙂
Christian Grey or Gideon Cross?
I honestly can’t answer that. I haven’t read either book.
Flowers or Chocolate?
E-book or paperback?
You can find Tonya here;
